The Company of Strangers is run by Jessica Taft Langdon.
After working in-house for a wide range of fashion businesses in New York & Los Angeles, Jessica launched her consulting career in 2012.
While heading the influential, LA made brand the palatines from 2013 - 2019, Jessica continued to work with brands/clients of all sizes, helping to grow new and existing footwear businesses.
The Company of Strangers was launched with a clear focus on process and product. Having developed scores of seasonal collections for a wide variety of brands, Jessica brings an expertise to each nuanced step in the process from design concept, through precise sampling, to high quality finished product. Communication with client and manufacturing partners is at the heart of the process.
The Company of Strangers works with a diverse group of vetted factories, contractors, collaborators and colleagues, whose areas of expertise are called on as needed to support the needs of each project and each client. The process of designing and developing a product does not lie in the hands or mind of one individual - each part of that lifecycle is managed by a person or team that has the expertise to create a high quality product. As a product expert, Jessica keeps an eagle eyed focus on the design, product development and production of shoes and accessories.
Although we have a network of manufacturing partners around the world, our team has a particularly strong link with the multigenerational manufacturing tradition with Italy, and work with with factories that otherwise do not take new brands as clients.
The Company of Strangers maintains a small number of clients on our roster, so that each client can benefit from the individual focus needed to create the right product, in the right way for their business.
